The Nairobi to Kampala coach is the busiest cross-border run in East Africa. Coaches leave in the afternoon or evening, cross the border overnight and reach Kampala the next morning.
Carry your national ID or passport and, for the border, your yellow fever card. Be at the boarding point 30 minutes early, keep valuables with you and expect a stop at the border while documents are checked.
